Just as we recognize significant milestones in our everyday life, Alleluia recognizes significant milestones in our young peoples’ lives as well. Faith Milestone events include a workshop for parents and children, along with recognition during worship. We are looking to continue to build on these Faith Milestones. Current Milestone events include:

Preschool Welcome & Bible Presentation

This introduction to Sunday School is a way to introduce preschoolers and their parents to Sunday School. Parents and children will also explore the Spark Story Bible together as parents learn how to engage their children in the biblical story. Bibles will then be presented following the breakfast during the 10:00 am worship service.

KinderGARTEN-1ST GRADE LORD’S PRAYER RETREAT

Kindergarten - 1st grade children and Parents will gather for breakfast as we learn together about the Lord's Prayer. Prayer books will then be presented to the children during worship at 10:00 a.m.

 2nd-Grade “Why We Worship” Retreat

Second grade children and at least one parent will attend this retreat to learn “Why We Worship” at Alleluia.

4th-Grade Introduction to Confirmation and Bible Presentation

Fourth grade children will get an introduction as to what to expect when they register for Confirmation in the fall. They will also receive a regular Bible that they can use throughout Confirmation and beyond. Older children who have not received a Bible are also welcome to participate with a parent.

First communion

A First Communion retreat is held in the spring of each year. All 3rd-graders and and older children who have not yet received First Communion are invited to attend. We celebrate First Communion with these young people at Maundy Thursday worship. Contact Jen for more information.

AFFIRMATION OF BAPTISM

Following a 4-year Confirmation program, youth in 9th grade affirm their baptismal promises on the last Saturday of October -- Reformation Weekend. This celebration is not an ending for our young people, but a new beginning in their faith journey as they are welcomed as adults into the life and ministry of the church.

Graduate Blessing.jpg

In May of each year, we recognize graduating seniors and celebrate this milestone in their lives with a special blessing and gift during worship. Parents are encouraged to send a graduation and baby picture for slide show honoring our graduates.
